Tatiana Kozyreva
Journalist, Ukraine
I’m a longtime contributor to the journalist-owned Ukrainian Broadcaster
Hromadske, where I’ve worked in a number of roles, including as the
senior editor for live studio shows and as a reporter and producer. As a
journalist and producer, I created a short documentary series from
occupied Crimea and the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine. At the same
time, I worked on the popular political satire show 'UT-1 with Michael
Shur' modeled on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart where I acted as a
contributing reporter from the field. From January 2015 I was a
journalist and host for the 'Dorohi deputaty' ('Expensive deputies')
political show about the excesses of members of Ukraine's Parliament. In
December 2015 I cofounded the http://www.posipaky.info/ database on
Parliament staffers which for the first time in Ukraine's history opened
up the staff lists of Ukraine's Parliament to the public and shed light
on the web of connections between parliament, business, and government.
I have also reported abroad. In 2016 I covered the presidential race in
the United States for the Ukrainska Pravda news website. My latest
reports are a series of cross-border investigations titled The Battle
for Washington about questionably sourced funds and offshore accounts
used by Ukrainian politicians to pay American lobbyists.
